JohnnyBerry™ does not understand addictions.
JohnnyBerry™ is not an expert on addictions.
JohnnyBerry™ is not talking about being addicted to a television show, or a certain restaurant, or the internet.
Some people would say that JohnnyBerry™ is addicted to food. And while it is true that JohnnyBerry™ likes food it does not consume his life.
JohnnyBerry™ is talking […]

What?!?
It’s February 19 already?
Man, where has the time gone?
Tv, work, Wii, Facebook… Nothing productive except that Olive Louise Jenkins Smith was the top fundraiser in her pack for the 2009 Paws in the Park.
BetaMike got a new car.
Its a Volkswagen Rabbit, but he calls it a Beta-Bunny.
We have a new President but I am not […]

On this beautiful Sunday morning and every other Sunday morning, the “her” in question is Vestal Goodman, the Queen of Gospel Music (Southern).
Most of you will not know who this woman was, but JohnnyBerry™ does.
JohnnyBerry™ grew up listening to her sing.
In person, at concerts in churches and school gymnasiums.
On recordings.
On the radio.
And every Sunday morning […]

JohnnyBerry™ finally got some much needed rain today.
After spending the night away from home last night JohnnyBerry™ went to the 2008 Orlando International Fringe Theater Festival with BetaMike and KellyLiv.
We went to see a program called Totem Figures presented by a Canadian fellow by the name of T.J. Dawe (pictured above).
JohnnyBerry™ does not usually sit […]

Not to make a big deal out of it, but JohnnyBerry™ has left MySpace.
JohnnyBerry™ has a long list of reasons that influenced his decision to leave, but foremost is the fact that it is owned by News Corporation, the parent company of FOXNews.
JohnnyBerry™ is not going to sit here and say that CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC are 100% unbiased […]

The Democratic Party has been on the right side of history with every issue I’ve cared about — civil rights, the women’s movement, environmentalism, and consumer protection.
Democrats have traditionally been the party that has represented the interests and values of working families.
The values of faith and family values, the overriding belief that citizenship is a […]

Way back in 1981 when I was thirteen years-old I started watching “Falcon Crest” on CBS. There I was every Friday night at 10:00 pm camped out in front of the television to watch Jane Wyman as Angela Channing.
Of course, one of the reasons I liked Jane Wyman was because she had sense enough to […]

“It’s always frustrating when we put them in jail and somebody lets them out, but that’s our system,” Mascotte police Chief Steve Allen said. “You’re presumed innocent until proven guilty.”
Um…
Presumption of innocence is a legal right that the accused in criminal trials has in many modern nations. It states that no person shall be considered […]

Warren Buffet has made no secret of his belief that rich people have a duty to pay more taxes and that President Bush and Republicans in Congress have erred by pushing tax cuts for the wealthy.
The 76-year-old Buffett is one of the world’s wealthiest men, typically ranked third on Forbes Magazine’s annual survey behind Microsoft founder […]

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phone.
What if we carried it around in our purse or pocket?
What if we turned around to get it if we forgot it?
What if we flipped through it several times a day?
What if we used it to receive messages from the […]

Well our long national nightmare is over!
No!
<—-Not that nightmare!
I am talking about my day of Jury Duty.
Right after Post #3 my number got called! We went to the 9th (Beta’s fav number) floor and got a bathroom break before being escorted into Courtroom 69.
Actually it was more like 9C, but that is a boring number/letter combination!
There […]

I would have thought that they would invest a little extra money and install the speakers in the rest rooms. I was in there going #1 and did not hear a thing - when I returned to the waiting room she had finished announcing the next group of jurors to go upstairs.
This is the fourth […]

At 8:51, the pagers are ready so the smokers can go outside.
If you look at yesterday’s post “Jury Duty Tomorrow” you will see a link to the Orientation Video where they actually mention the smokers pagers - they look like the pagers that poor-people restaurants like Olive Garden and PF Chang’s gives to their patrons […]

Well, I am parked at the Orlando Arena, or as it is called now, “Amway SalesCult Arena”. We park for free, then ride the Lymmo (I shit you not - pronounced “limo” as in short for limousine) to the courthouse.
Security could not have been easier, nothing like the airport - they actually smiled and there […]

I hope to have some funny stories to share with you at the end of my jury duty on Thursday, June 7.
In a previous posting, I mentoned the cute fellas with flip-flops and/or sandals helping pass the time, but that type of footwear might be too casual, because they do advise potential jurors to “Please […]

Looks like whOrlando is finally getting into the big leagues!
(And unfortunately I am not talking about major league baseball. Shit - we can’t even control the NBA franchise here - the Magic need to move to the midwest and die a slow and painful death - even with Billy Donovan, he’s cute but after […]

Why does everyone get so bent out of shape when they get these in the mail? I love it! I like government and watching how it works!
Actually, I like it because I can people-watch. I stake out a corner of the jury waiting room, fire up the laptop, then watch and listen.
Sometimes I hear good […]

Guess Who?!?
Madison, my personal assistant
I like to “hit” the gym (I am already using the lingo….) early because it is not crowded and there are plenty of parking spaces, but I have come to the realization that all the cute boys don’t get up as early as I do.
Now out of the 50 or so […]
